NEW MUSIC: FUTURE SOUNDS OF 2014

As usual this comes a little late, but whatever, here are our 'Future Sounds Of 2014'. If you're so inclined you can view the previous years choices from 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2010.

Rachel Sermanni - A young lady from Carrbridge in the Highlands, Sermanni helped spur on the folk 'revival' with the release of her debut LP 'Under Mountains' back in 2012, and returns this year with new material. The first of which is an EP titled 'Everything Changes' which is out now.

Sophie Jamieson - She put out our favourite EP of last year - 'Where', so it's no surprise we're tipping Miss Sophie Jamieson in 2014. An incredible talent, she's recently added a drummer - Amos Memon - to the set up, so we're expecting even bigger and better things this year!

Crows - Randomly caught Crows playing The Purple Turtle in Camden earlier this year, instantly blown away. Research revealed they've so far put out two singles through their own label Dolphinarium, with more planned for this year. Expect 80's gothic rock brought up to date!

Laura Welsh - We first picked up on Laura in 2012 with her double single 'Call To Arms / Hollow Drum'. With new material surfacing already in 2014 this could be her breakthrough year. Her voice is next level awesome- with the right songs she's bound for great things.

Denai Moore -We picked up on Denai Moore with her EP 'The Lake' late last year. That record was produced by Ben Drew and she's already appeared on Jools Holland, pretty big things for someone who is only 19! This year has started strongly too, supporting James Vincent McMorrow.

Big Ups - Loud, obnoxious, 4 piece punk band from New York City. Big Ups have been a refreshing early discovery of 2014. Debut LP 'Eighteen Hours Of Static' is 30 minutes of visceral anger and life commentary, and if you like such things it's highly recommended!
